Ashfield Pianos was established in 2010 by piano technician Gavin Crooks, as a tuning and maintenance service for acoustic pianos. At first, the business focused solely on the tuning and regulation of pianos, but steadily grew to incorporate many other aspects of piano maintenance, including action restoration, specialist repairs, complete restringing, voicing and more.

Since moving to Cardiff, Gavin has become the head piano technician for the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, and St. David’s Hall. Ashfield Pianos now offers piano services to a variety of venues in South Wales, as well as private and domestic customers.
